DISTRICT 9
This will be a true “open source-on-District-9?-talk. All District 9 tools and pipeline are built on cortex, but cortex at the moment is very hard for people to get into using because it has no tutorials or examples. This is a talk which shows some eye candy as usual, and then has quick overviews of some of the tools and how they were used on District 9, and how they use cortex. It could include some simple standalone scripts which people could take away and use – stuff like caching, image manipulation, light rigging and some simple procedural rendering.
